With over a decade of artistic experience ranging from illustration to web design, it’s an understatement to say that Ilya Mazurkevich is multi-talented. He began developing his aesthetic style on trains and sewer tunnels, perfecting the art of the tag, until he realized he was better suited to spread his work on t-shirts instead of walls. In 2011,
he launched his own clothing brand, Active Soul Design, and he’s recently taken an interest in designing mobile apps. His Russian roots are evident in his typographical work, which blend his own unique take on Russian Constructivism and modern styles.
He’s gearing up to graduate from the Graphic Design program at VCU in Richmond, Virginia, and while he has no idea where he’s going to end up, he couldn’t be more excited.
